Our monthly lesson plans are designed for committed students who take lessons regularly. You will be charged once a month for your lessons and receive a personal code to use for scheduling.

Missed a lesson? Couldn’t make it this month? No worries! Your unused lessons roll-over from month to month so you will never be charged for lessons that you did not attend (just don’t forget to let us know 48 hours in advance).

PRO INSTRUCTORS

All of us here at Modern Tone Studios are active, professional musicians. We have been playing music our entire lives and are very picky about choosing the players who get to share this passion with our students and us. Therefore, each of our fellow instructors:

  • Has been playing for over ten years
  • Has more than five years of teaching experience
  • Performs, records, or arranges music professionally on a regular basis
  • Is motivated, passionate and committed
  • Is positive, presentable, and friendly

Daniel Nervo

A Full-time professional guitarist who plays with top bands in the Bay Area and divides his time between gigging, recording, and teaching

Will Griffin

A Performing and Recording Pianist, Keyboardist and Producer who worked with Grammy winning musicians

Annie Cilley

A performing vocalist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist experienced in classical, folk, jazz, and pop

Jeff Suburu

A touring and performing guitarist who plays rock, funk, fusion, and country, this MI graduate has been teaching for over a decade

Music is our love, our passion, and our trade. We have spent decades studying, practicing, and mastering this craft, eventually turning it into our livelihood. We rehearse regularly to stay on top of our game, follow industry trends and fashions, exchange ideas with other musicians constantly and strive to get better every single day.

  • We believe in pushing our students to their full potential, but doing so in a positive, nurturing and encouraging way
  • We believe that matching students with the right instructors help to form a better human connection between them and leads to better, happier students
  • We believe that music should be learned in a soulful, inspiring, and comfortable environment
  • We believe in using high-quality musical instruments and equipment

Our teaching and recording studios have been built from the ground up with acoustics and soundproofing in mind. We designed the spaces to be ideal for music teaching and recording. We handpick all of our amps, instruments, and accessories, and pride ourselves with using high-quality equipment that is made in the USA.

FAQ

While the studios are open every day of the week, we can’t all be there all the time. However, most of us are available for lessons on multiple days throughout the week. Our quick online booking process matches your schedule with your instructor’s availability and helps you find the best day and time for your lesson. Want to reserve that day and time every week? Click the “recurring” tab after choosing a day and time. Prefer to book a different date every time? Be our guest. You can even book multiple lessons in advance, each at a different day and time.

Your instrument, a notebook, and a will to rock and roll! A list of songs you like is also a great idea.

We sure can! Introducing you to new ideas, techniques, methods, scales and musical concepts, will help you break out of your rut and regain your long lost enthusiasm. In addition to that, we will make sure you improve gradually from week to week and help you establish a proper practicing regimen. We’ll teach you how to be meticulous about your playing and maybe even show you a secret trick or two ;)

You can definitely borrow, just make sure that you are free to keep it for a while because you will need it to practice at home between lessons. However, in the long run, it’s probably best to own your instrument.
