Bio
Daniel Nervo is a full-time professional guitarist who performs regularly with top bands in the Bay Area, ranging in style from rock, pop, country, jazz, and. classical.
He studied classical guitar as a teenager at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and went on to study jazz at Grove School of Music in Los Angeles. Daniel also studied music theory and classical performance at UCLA. Since graduating, he has played with dozens of original and cover bands in Los Angeles and the Bay Area. He now divides his time between gigging, recording sessions, and teaching.
Daniel Nervo started playing guitar when he was 10 years old after listening to his parents’ Beatles records and falling in love with music. He started with lessons on acoustic guitar, and soon after got his first electric guitar. It didn’t take him long to start developing his rock guitar chops, being heavily influenced by the many rock guitar masters that emerged in the 1980’s. He later began studying jazz, funk, and country music, which greatly expanded his playing style and versatility.
As a teacher, Daniel finds that inspiring his students is a top priority. He believes students should follow their heart when deciding what guitar styles to learn, but not without understanding the fundamentals of music. That’s why he includes rudiments, technique, and music theory in his lessons.
He strives for his lessons to be both fun and informative. You can definitely expect to have fun in a session with Daniel while advancing your technique and knowledge to become a well rounded guitar player.
