Ron Darden is a professional performing and recording drummer who plays with artists and bands all over the Bay Area. He specializes in Jazz, Blues, R&B, and Neo-Soul, and has strong roots in Rock and Pop as well. Ron got his AA in music from Contra Costa College and has been performing regularly since 2008.

Growing up in a musical household, Ron always knew he would become a musician. He started playing drums at the early age of 4, and has been practicing daily ever since. He started out by mimicking his favorite drummers and spending hours on end perfecting his chops. Ron is one of the busiest drummers in the Bay Area, known for his passion, strong work ethic and soulful drum playing. Among his many influences are Chris Coleman, Nathaniel Townsend, Eric Moore, and Dennis Chambers.

Nowadays you can see Ron perform in churches, arenas, festivals and bars, as well as laying down drum tracks in studios and recording spaces. He currently plays drums for The Cold Sol Band, Bridget Marie, Byron Gipson, Lady Bianca, Suga-T, The Will Roc Project and many more.

Our studios are located in the heart of downtown Lafayette, right off the freeway. We have a private parking lot and street parking is easy and plentiful. The address is 1018-B Almanor Ln, Lafayette, CA 94549.

Lessons are $70 for a full hour. We recommend weekly lessons, but you are free to set the lesson frequency as you wish. We also offer monthly lesson plans designed for committed students who take lessons regularly. We respectfully request at least 24 hours notice for cancellations. No-shows and lessons cancelled less than 24 hours in advance will be charged in full.

Music is our love, our passion, and our trade. We have spent decades studying, practicing, and mastering this craft, eventually turning it into our livelihood. We rehearse regularly to stay on top of our game, follow industry trends and fashions, exchange ideas with other musicians constantly and strive to get better every single day.

Our teaching and recording studios have been built from the ground up with acoustics and soundproofing in mind. We designed the spaces to be ideal for music teaching and recording. We handpick all of our amps, instruments, and accessories, and pride ourselves with using high-quality equipment that is made in the USA.
